Teen Driving Behavior Impacts Auto Insurance Premiums

"Mom/Dad, can I borrow the car?" Now there's a scary question most parents of teenaged children dread hearing. And considering the results of a recent AAA and Seventeen magazine survey, it's easy to see why. The survey shows that 61 percent of teens polled admitted to risky behavior while driving. Of that number, 46 percent say they send and/or read text messages while 51 percent talk on cell phones. AAA noted that more than 6,000 15 to 20-year olds are killed on America's highways each year. Statistics such as this one directly impact auto insurance rates for teenaged drivers, as most parents can attest.
